The music industry is changing. Bands are finding more and more ways to get their music heard on their own, and a perfect example of this new movement is Push Play. Coming out of Long Island, the band has managed to sell 30,000 records between their shows and their website since August 2007. This is added on top of over a million song plays on their Myspace page, along with selling out the Fillmore at the legendary Irving Plaza in New York City. What sets Push Play apart from others in their class is exactly what is changing the music industry: No label. No radio. This DIY success has led them to take on the Nokia Theatre as their next conquest, and on April 26th they will be the only unsigned band to take the stage in the venue’s history. Push Play is an edgy pop rock band coming to the scene first on Long Island and reaching as far as the Midwest in cities such as Menomonee Falls, WI and Chicago, IL and as far north as Boston, MA.
Comprised of four young men, this talented group has just been named Best Band on Long Island by the Long Island Press. Their newly released debut album ‘Deserted,’ which represents all of their own material, has reached almost 30,000 fans across the globe and their iTunes release stayed in the top 100 for the first 2 weeks, which is unheard of by a unsigned band that had not begun touring outside the tri-state area.
Recently selling out the renowned Irving Plaza in Manhattan, Push Play left four blocks of fans unable to get in to the packed house.
Recently signing with Creative Artist Agency, as their agent, they plan to take the world by force, starting slowly and building a fan base across the globe with solid headlining acts.
Push Play has been approached by the majors but have decided to take things into their own hands under the leadership of their management and the force behind their “Push Play for Purpose” campaign which has set them apart from other bands.
In the tri-state area every show performed has been to a sold out crowd since September 2007. Only together for a year and a half, this is quite a triumph for these good looking, multitalented young men.
